10 Things I Learned in PR Writing
1. Make connection face to face when meeting about a certain client
2. Make sure when writing a story or a news release to use AP style.
3. Do not give journalist embargo dates because it is irriating to them.
4. Turn any information that is wanted to be published early so the journalist or editor will have efficient time to look over the materil and get it in the right hands.
5. Do not sell a product, tell a story. There are enough products in the world. Explain why this product is of value.
6. The words abbreviated in refrence to a street in AP style is Avenue (Ave.), Street (St.), and Boulevard (Blvd.)
7. Make sure all information that will put into the media is accurate and spelled correctly.
8. I learned how to use a blog this semester. Even though it is difficult for me to be consistent with it still is interesting way of communication.
9. I learned how to use Twitter to communicate on various issues and topic, and using # for any specific topic or group.
10. I learned how to hyperlink in a blog and how to use infographics.

1.I totally understand the feeling of overload with e-mails since I have been working under Student Life. The amount of bogus e-mails, memos, voicemail,and more can be quite a lot. I do appreciate those who do leave messages for me or my department where it is not overbearing or just ridiculous.
2.Having Jeff come in as our guest speaker in class was quite enjoyable, especially to be able to hear someone that works in the industry give us a few tips on how to better our skill and how to work with others in the PR/Journalism field.
